Pereyaslav Khmelnytsky is a small town on the left bank of Dnieper (Dnipro) river.

The famous Museum of the History of Ukrainian Folk Architecture is located here. The city is well known as the birthplace of Sholom Aleihem, the classic of jewish literature.
